Deaf and Blind Awareness

StrategyGen Co. (SBA Certified HUBZone Small Business)
DeafBlind Awareness Week is observed during the last week of June each year. It’s a time to raise awareness about individuals who have combined hearing and vision loss.

This special week commemorates the achievements of people who are DeafBlind and honors the legacy of Helen Keller, a leading humanitarian, author, and educator who herself was deafblind. In 2024, Helen Keller DeafBlind Awareness Week will be celebrated from June 23rd to July 1.

The campaign focuses on the diverse journeys and shared aspirations of DeafBlind individuals, emphasizing how organizations like the Helen Keller National Center for DeafBlind Youths & Adults (HKNC) partner with them to navigate life’s pathways toward greater independence, meaningful employment, and personal milestones.

If you’d like to learn more about the DeafBlind community, HKNC offers free resources, including information on DeafBlind culture and respectful interactions with DeafBlind individuals
